SAIP services are provided at no charge to program participants
SAIP is a Family Violence Prevention Services program funded by the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (TCADA). The purpose is to identify and recruit high-risk youth between the ages of 14 and 17 for a 12-week program consisting of group, individual and family counseling and community activities.
SAIP uses a curriculum called Reconnecting Youth (RY) that was developed for at-risk high school students. The goals of RY are to:

Increase Drug Use Control
Increase Mood Management
Enrollment Criteria:

Substance Abuse
Family or Related Violence
Poor School Performance
Truancy
Probationary Status

A sudden change in personality
Changes in relationships
History of substance abuse in the family
Trouble with the police
Problems at school
Secretive behavior, dishonesty and lying
Changes in appetite, sleep, habits or appearance
Rebelliousness or violent behavior
Drug use among friends
Finding drug paraphernalia
