Signs of a Violent Relationship

 

Chronic anger
Loss of self-control

Controlling behavior
Denial of responsibility for violent behavior

You may be a victim of family violence if your partner does even one of the following:

  • Hits, pushes, slaps or chokes you
  • Criticizes or calls you names
  • Shows extreme signs of jealousy
  • Threatens to take your children if you leave
  • Throws objects at you
  • Keeps you from family or friends
  • Makes you afraid to disagree
  • Takes the car keys so that you cannot leave
  • Keeps you from working or going to school
  • Threatens to kill you
  • Forces you to have sex when you do not want to
  •
