Counseling Intern
Our Approach:
Counseling Services provides counseling to people experiencing domestic violence. Our on-going training program will provide you with the knowledge needed for effective work with our client population. You will develop your own style drawing on your experiences in graduate school and at our site. Any ethical theoretical approach that meets your client's needs is acceptable.

Our Clients:
We see clients from all walks of life with a variety of needs.
The Experience:
Students at our site create their own unique practicum or internship experience. You will have the opportunity to work with adults, teens, and children in both individual and group counseling.
Students attend weekly case staffing and supervision meetings. After our initial training students have access to a talented, diverse team of staff counselors and on-going training.
In addition to counseling, students also develop an understanding of working in a counseling center through assisting with administrative responsibilities.
Application Process :
Students are strongly encouraged to contact our site at least 2 months prior to their desired start date.
Interview with Clinical Director. Bring your resume, syllabus, and proof of professional liability insurance with you. Screening interviews are by appointment only.
Completion of Criminal History Background Check.
Intern Orientation. Students accepted for practicum or internship must attend our 16-hour initial training session (scheduled over several days).
There are no paid practicum or internship positions.

Our office is located at 7911 Broadway, 3/4 of a mile inside Loop 410. The cross street is Sunset.

Friday - 9 - 4
